District-wide assessment serves multiple purposes. Millard administers a number of assessments to ensure that students master the knowledge and skills necessary for personal excellence. Students must be College and Career Ready in reading, writing, mathematics and science.

What is MAP?

MAP is an adaptive test that makes it possible to pinpoint each child's needs and strengths in reading and math. The assessments are given to all students in the fall, winter, and spring. The test adapts the level of questions to how well a student answers the previous questions. The final score is an estimate of the student's achievement level.

The test creates an individual score for each student. This score is called a RIT score. This overall score is a composite of skill components. These scores allow the student and teacher valuable information to target area of growth. Each student creates growth goals based on his/her achievement.
