Welcome to Cather Elementary School! We have an outstanding school and I am happy you are here!
I have been at Cather Elementary since 2017. Prior to that, I was the principal at Disney Elementary for eight years. I was a classroom teacher for 5 years in St. Joseph, MO where I taught 2nd-6th Grade and a principal in Missouri for 5 years. As an instructional leader with the Core Knowledge Curriculum, I really enjoy teaching and learning in this program. Millard Public Schools is an amazing school district and a great place to live and raise children!
I moved to the Omaha area from Missouri in 2009 to be close to my parents to help support them in their later years. I have two children and four grandchildren who live in Northwest Missouri, and two step children that live in Iowa, attending Iowa State University. We are a farm family where we raise cattle, chickens, corn, soybeans and hay. Our farm is in Iowa and we have a home in the metro area as well. We enjoy the outdoors, time with family, travel when the farm allows, and other hobbies.
Being your principal is very important to me. My mission is to help all learners enjoy learning and teachers to enjoy teaching at Cather Elementary. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate high achievement and academic growth to the best of their abilities. We will provide diverse and innovative learning opportunities designed to actively engage and challenge all students. We have a distinctive learning community, the Core Knowledge Program. We provide a safe and caring environment committed to developing responsible citizenship and character in our global society, equal opportunities for all learners!
